Description/ Tasting NotesThe 2015 Sorella is superb, unwinding in the glass with a youthful but already complex bouquet of crushed cassis, cherries, pencil shavings, subtle cigar smoke and espresso roast. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a rock-solid core, juicy acids and a beautifully fine-grained but firm chassis of structuring tannins.
Winery Info/ Brand
Started in 1989, Andrew Will Winery derived its name from owner Chris Camarda's son, Will, and nephew Andrew. Started out with a simple building, which at one time was just a walkway between two adjoining structures with a roof on. Since then, the winery has added a new building for case storage and expanded the winery for more tanks. Ensuring the improvement of their artisanal winemaking techniques is one value that has been instilled in the winery and have since produced fine wines blending the most important varietals grown in Washington.
Region Info/ Origin
The Horse Heaven Hills appellation is located in south-central Washington along the Washington-Oregon border. The area takes its name from an early pioneer who said, upon seeing the region and its wide prairies and expanses, ‘‘Surely this is Horse Heaven!" Two-thirds of the acreage is planted to red wine grapes (dominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) and one-third to white wine grapes (evenly split between Chardonnay and Riesling). The area is among Washington’s warmer growing regions, allowing a wide variety of grapes to ripen successfully. Many vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills are planted on south-facing slopes, providing for extended sun exposure.
