Owes its name to its strange past. Indeed, it concerned one of the first social reconversions: the return to a normal civil status for the "Grognards" (Soldier under Napoleon) at lost for battle. Owes its architecture to the traditional provencal bastide style or an elegant town house.

Côtes du Rhône is a wine-growing Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée for the Rhône wine region of France, which may be used throughout the region, also in those areas which are covered by other AOCs. During harvest, the grapes are picked by hands, and largely depending on the foresight, skill and knowledge of the wine-maker to produce only style wine for distribution and enjoyment. Most of the wine made in Côtes du Rhône are red wine with small growth of white grape varietals.
