Since 1999 Stefan Steinmetz has taken the responsibility from his father and continued the traditional winery at the same time improve in all areas of vinification through proven, newly-acquired knowledge and modern production techniques. With geological and climatic conditions taken into consideration, each vintage are produced with the maximum quality possible. And most of its production utilizes organic method which consist of environmentally-friendly winegrowing, which do not include fertiliser as well as herbicides and insecticides.

Brauneberg is a village in the district of Bereich Bernkastel in Germany's Mosel region. The name Brauneberg means 'brown hill', and comes from the reddish-brown color of the local soils – drawn from high levels of iron oxide in the decomposed slate. It is this believed that this particular soil composition gives a certain richness and structure to Brauneberger wines.
