Winery Info/ Brand

Founded in France by Joseph Krug in 1843, the House of Krug has a long history of champagne-making. The brand aims to produce only prestige Champagnes, which is testimony to Joseph's enduring philosophy. About 170 years ago, Joseph triumphed in his groundbreaking discovery of creating the most generous expression of Champagne every year, regardless of climatic unpredictability. Today, the brand's enduring vision and unrivalled reputation have built a culture and identity for all of its labels, that are defined by finesse, elegance and balance.

Region Info/ Origin

The western boundary of Champagne-Ardenne is located about 90 miles east of Paris. The Region in the north-east of France, is one of the largest producers of wine in the world depending on the vintage. Its landscapes include the départements of Ardennes, Marne, Aube and Haute-Marne. However, the "region" designated for the production of Champagne, also includes parts of the adjoining départements. Moreover, the old French province of Champagne roughly covered the same areas.
