Winery Info/ Brand

Markus Huber was born in 1979, and received his education in viniculture and oenology in Klosterneuburg, Austria. After visits abroad in South Africa in the year 2000, he began to gradually expand his small, more than 250 year-old family-owned winery into an internationally recognized, leading Austrian company.
Since then, our goal is the production of white wines of the highest quality, that reflect their origins. Huber wines are characterized by their elegance, fine minerality, precision and complexity.

Region Info/ Origin

Austria’s youngest wine-growing area is also one of its smallest. Yet, with only around 770 hectares of vineyards, it is an excellent area – especially because of its leading grape variety, Grüner Veltliner. While most of the small wine villages here feature the ever-traditional, down to earth Heurigen wine taverns, the larger towns, such as Traismauer and Herzogenburg, offer fine glimpses into history. Since the 2006 vintage, typically fruity and spicy Grüner Veltliners and juicy, minerally Rieslings have been coming to the market with the “Traisental DAC” designation.
