About Alsace

Located on the border of Germany and France, Alsace grows Germanic grape varieties like Gewurtztraminer and Riesling, which are produced in a very different style from Germany. Wines from Alsace are aromatic and offer floral and peach aromas. They also have brilliant acidity, and have rich textures. Oak aging is not used for wines, and instead a balance of ripeness and alcohol is used to fill out the flavour. Riesling and Muscat are typically made in a dry style, while Gewurtztraminer and Pinot Gris are made in a slightly sweeter style.
