About Abruzzo
Located in central Italy, Abruzzo has a highly-varied soil type, with marly-clay, limestone and sand-rich flysch, and gravels and alluvial deposits dominating the coastline's flat wine-growing areas. Abruzzo's dominant grape variety is the red grape, Motepulciano. Montepulciano produces a fruity, structured, full-bodied wine with a herbaceous character, similar to Cabernet Sauvignon. Abruzzo's white wines include Trebbiano d'Abruzzo - characterized by delicate aromas and orchard fruit flavours, and Pecorino.-
