This is a well balanced cava, with both acidity and body. It is a pale yellow, barely tinged with green and has a quick-rising fine bubble that forms a good crown. It has fruity notes of apple and pear and a nice citric backdrop on the palate. It has a pleasingly long finish.Winery Info/ Brand
The Freixenet winery is situated in Spain’s Penedes wine region, 50 kms south west of Barcelona in Sant Sadurni D'Anoia. The history of the Ferrer family and roots of Freixenet are deeply entwined in the Penedès region. The house of founder Pedro Ferrer Bosch still sits on the original vineyard “La Freixenada”. "This Catalan region by the Mediterranean, of a warm weather and smooth terrains, is where wineries cultivate the main varieties to produce top-quality cava: Macabeo, Parellada and Xarello. They are accompanied by the Chardonnay grape, of French origin, which provides elegance and aroma. Villa Conchi, the cava brand of our group, is made in the heart of the Penedès. Its freshness and vibrant personality owe much to the harmony and purity of environment. In addition, its presentation has a lot to do with the true vocation of cava: celebration and pleasure."
