Description/ Tasting Notes

It does boast attractive notes of red fruits on the nose—strawberries and raspberries come to mind—but also some minty, stemmy notes. It's full-bodied but also a bit herbal and astringent on the palate. Fine and elegant nose with slightly vanilla fruit notes. Roundness and complexity are its characteristics in the mouth. Intense ruby color, delicate nose with notes of ripe red fruits, powerful and silky on the palate. Aging potential of 15 to 20 years. Full and long, this wine deserves to be tasted with a dish of character such as game in sauce or red meat simmered for a long time, in stew in particular. It is also recommended on a chocolate dessert which will sublimate its aromas of cocoa and toast.

Winery Info/ Brand

The name "Jas" refers to a small stone house or known as a shepherds hut in Provence. The area that used to be a shelter place became well-known over the years, and today, Chateau Jas de Bressy spreads over 5.5 hectares in the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation to produce Chateauneuf du Pape and Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc vintages. The red grape varietals are planted on gravel with small rocks over the sand and red clay sub soil while one hectare is dedicated to plant white grape varietals which harvests well due to the gifted cooler climate.

Region Info/ Origin

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the largest and most important wine appellation in the southern Rhône. It is home to more than 3,200 hectares of vineyards and with over 80 growers, more wine can be produced in Châteauneuf than the whole of the northern Rhône put together.
