Description/ Tasting Notes

Scents of baked black cherries, blackberry preserves and crème de cassis with hints of leather, unsmoked cigars and dried sage with a waft of pencil lead. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with concentrated black fruits and framed by firm, grainy tannins and tons of freshness, finishing long with great purity.

Winery Info/ Brand

In 1970, Château Clerc-Milon-Mondon was purchased by Philippe de Rothschild, the owner of Château Mouton Rothschild, for a sum of 1 million francs.[2][3] At this time, the property was in poor shape and consisted of 16.5 hectares (41 acres) of vineyards. Rothschild removed the Mondon part of the name, and subsequently expanded the estate by purchasing additional vineyards that had previously been part of Clerc Milon. Château Clerc Milon has 41 hectares (100 acres) of vineyards in Mousset and around Milon, planted to 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Carmenère, and with a planting density of 10 000 vines per hectare.

Region Info/ Origin

Pauillac is home to several of the world's most famous wine and the region lies in an inauspicious small village in Médoc. Pauillac sprawls over the land size of about 8.8 square miles, is highly optimised for wine production and accounts for a rather disproportionate amount of fine, expensive wine in Bordeaux.
